instituDE 'Global Affairs & Diplomacy' başlıklı eğitim programına başvuruları almaya başladı.

4 hafta sürecek eğitim programında Türk Dış Politikası, Suriye'de süregelen ihtilafın dinamikleri, İsrail-Filistin ihtilafı, insan hakları hukuku ve kurumları, küresel ilişkilerde Afrika'nın rolü, Rusya-Ukrayna ihtilafı, Orta Doğu jeopolitiğinde İran, Latin Amerika, Küresel Ekonomi ve Çin, siber savaş ve uluslararası hukuk, Avrupa Birliği Hukuku ve İltica ve Göçmenlik Hukuku konuları işlenecek.

11 Mayıs 2025 tarihinde başlayacak oturumlarımız her haftasonu Pazar günleri saat 18.30-21-30 (CET)arasında zoom üzerinden yapılacaktır.

Oturumlar alanında uzman (eski) diplomatlar, akademisyenler ve araştırmacılar tarafından gerçekleştirilecek. Derslerin pek çoğu Türkçe, birkaçı ise İngilizce yapılacaktır. Bununla beraber tüm katılımcıların İngilizce kaynakları kullanarak derslere hazırlanmaları beklenmektedir. Tüm derslere katılan ve belirlenen konuda sunumunu yapan katılımcılara katılım belgesi verilecektir.

Weekly Program of 'Global Affairs and Diplomacy' Training

1. Topic: Turkish Foreign Policy from the early 2000s to the present

Synopsis: This session will analyze Turkey’s political landscape from the early 2000s to the present, focusing on shifts in governance, democratic backsliding, and institutional changes. It will examine the impact of domestic and international factors on Turkey’s political trajectory. The discussion will also touch upon civil society's role and the prospects for democratic renewal.

2. Topic: Dynamics of the ongoing conflict in Syria

Synopsis: This session will provide an in-depth analysis of the ongoing conflict in Syria, its regional implications, and international interventions. Participants will explore the humanitarian crisis, geopolitical dynamics, and peace efforts. The session will also assess the role of major global and regional actors in shaping Syria’s future.

3. Topic: Law on human rights and career opportunities in EU institutions

Synopsis: This session will explore the fundamental texts of human rights law, the rights they encompass, and the international mechanisms for their protection. It will also examine the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) and its implementation process. Additionally, the discussion will address contemporary challenges and assess the effectiveness of these institutions in promoting justice and accountability.

4. Topic: UN Mechanism of Protection of Human Rights, Treaty Based Mechanisms, Special Rapporteurs and Working Groups, the UNHRC and career pathways within the United Nations

Synopsis: This session provides an overview of the key institutions within the United Nations, highlighting their structures, mandates, and decision-making processes. Participants will learn about the role these organizations play in global governance, international law, and diplomacy. The session will also cover opportunities for engagement and career pathways within these institutions.

5. Topic: Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Synopsis: This session will examine the historical roots and evolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, focusing on key events, peace initiatives, and the role of international actors. It will provide an analysis of legal and political frameworks governing the dispute. Participants will also discuss recent developments and prospects for conflict resolution.

6. Topic: Understanding State, Societies and Economy of African Countries

Synopsis: This session will explore key analytical concepts that help us understand the complex trajectories of state, social dynamics, and economic developments in African countries since independence. Moving beyond simplistic narratives of failure or victimhood and dependency theory, we will focus on three influential frameworks in African Studies; neo-patrimonialism, gatekeeper state, and extraversion. These concepts offer valuable lenses to examine how power is exercised, how resources are controlled and distributed, and how African actors navigate both internal pressures and external dependencies in a globalized world.

7. Topic: Russia-Ukraine conflict

Synopsis: This session will analyze the Russia-Ukraine conflict, exploring its origins, geopolitical implications, and the role of NATO, the EU, and other international actors. It will examine the economic and humanitarian impact of the war. Participants will also discuss potential scenarios for conflict resolution and long-term stability in the region.

8. Topic: Iran in Middle Eastern geopolitics

Synopsis: This session will explore Iran’s domestic political landscape, regional influence, and relations with global powers. Key topics include Iran’s nuclear program, economic sanctions, and its role in Middle Eastern geopolitics. The discussion will also address the country’s human rights record and prospects for reform.

Synopsis: This session will focus on political and economic developments in Latin America, addressing democratic challenges, regional integration, and foreign influence. Participants will examine key countries’ policies, economic struggles, and social movements. The discussion will highlight how Latin America navigates global shifts in power.

10. Topic: Introduction to Global Economy and China

Synopsis: This session will provide an overview of key concepts in global economics, including trade, financial markets, and economic policies. Participants will explore the impact of globalization, economic crises, and international financial institutions. The discussion will also address economic challenges facing emerging markets.

This session will also analyze China’s economic and political rise, its Belt and Road Initiative, and its influence on global governance. It will cover China’s relations with the US, EU, and neighboring countries. The discussion will also address human rights concerns, internal governance, and China’s role in international institutions.

11. Topic: Cyber Warfare and international law
